Black Laser Marking Spray, 8.5oz, for High-Contrast Engraving on Stainless Steel, Copper and Aluminum
Black laser marking spray helps create durable, high-contrast patterns on suitable surfaces, including stainless steel, copper and aluminum. The 8.5oz spray applies white and turns black during laser engraving, making it useful for adding distinct designs to metal craft projects.
The spray can also be used on glass and ceramics. When used to help a blue-light laser engrave glass, however, the engraved glass does not develop a black effect. Compatible laser ratings are CO2 at a minimum of 25 watts, diode at a minimum of 10 watts, and fiber at 10 watts.
Before use, shake gently from side to side for 2–5 minutes until the glass bead can be heard moving; avoid vigorous or vertical shaking. Spray from 6–8 inches away, then let the coating dry completely before engraving. Room-temperature drying takes 10–30 minutes, or a heat gun can speed up drying. After engraving, remove remaining spray with water and a rag. Keep the can out of direct sunlight.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which lasers can I use with this marking spray?
This laser marking spray supports CO2 lasers rated at least 25 watts, diode lasers rated at least 10 watts and 10-watt fiber lasers. Let the sprayed coating dry completely before engraving.
Will the spray create black marks on glass?
Glass engraved using a blue-light laser will not develop a black effect with this spray. The spray can help a blue-light laser engrave glass, but that result differs from its black marking effect on suitable metal surfaces.
How do I prepare the spray and coating before engraving?
Shake the marking spray gently from side to side for 2–5 minutes until you hear the glass bead moving, then spray from 6–8 inches away. Avoid vigorous or vertical shaking. Allow 10–30 minutes to dry at room temperature, or use a heat gun, and engrave only after the coating is completely dry.
How do I clean up and keep the nozzle clear after use?
Remove remaining marking spray from the engraved surface with water and a rag. To clear the valve after use, turn the can upside down and press the nozzle until only gas comes out.
