This bread basket brings dinner rolls, biscuits or cornbread squares to the table in a compact, handwoven design. Its low sides make the last roll easy to reach, while leather loop handles help carry it between the kitchen and table.

Rattan reed is woven over a wood bottom and finished with a wrapped hardwood rim. An Old Order Amish family on the Iowa-Missouri border makes each basket by hand, and the weaver signs the bottom. The six-roll size measures 10 1/2 by 7 inches across the outside rim and stands 3 1/2 inches tall.

Trim colors are Plain, Wine & Blue and Wine & Green. Colored trim uses dyed reed rather than paint. The basket comes open and unlined; the fitted cotton liner, protective feet and engraved brass plate are optional extras sold separately. Food is not included.
