This dog walking harness helps you work on pulling during lead training, giving you control at the front or at both the front and back. The Black Dog Wear Balance Harness is adjustable, making it easier to fit your dog for walking practice while encouraging a balanced stance rather than reliance on the lead.

Connect a normal lead at the front, or use a double-ended lead for front-and-back control. Choose the size by measuring your dog's girth just behind the front legs rather than estimating by breed.

Use this harness as part of a training program and only with a lead no longer than 2 metres. Do not use it for tethering or as a car restraint; these uses can cause the harness to break.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I choose the right harness size for my dog?

Choose this dog harness by girth, measured snugly around the body just behind the front legs using a soft tape measure. Mini fits 40–50 cm, Small 47–63 cm, Medium 55–72 cm, Large 66–95 cm and XLarge 92–124 cm.

Can I use a normal lead with this harness?

Yes, this harness accepts a normal lead at the front attachment. Use a double-ended lead if you want control from both the front and back, and keep the lead length at 2 metres or less.

Will this harness replace training for a dog that pulls?

No, this walking harness should be used as part of a training program to reduce pulling. Its attachment choices help you practise lead control while teaching your dog to walk without relying on tension in the lead.

Can I use this harness in the car or to tether my dog?

No, this harness must not be used as a car restraint or for tethering. It must also not be used with a lead longer than 2 metres, as these uses can cause it to break.
