Woven Basket with an 18 x 14 Inch Rim and Raised Wood Base for Fireplace Logs and Living Room Storage

This woven basket keeps split logs, fatwood or kindling together beside the fireplace, with wood legs that raise the weave off the hearth. Its 18 x 14 inch rim provides room for an evening's firewood, while leather loop handles let you carry the basket between the woodpile and your fireside storage spot.

Handwoven rattan reed surrounds a wood bottom and a wrapped hardwood rim. Each basket is made by an Old Order Amish family on the Iowa-Missouri border and signed by its weaver. Away from the fireplace, use it beside a chair to gather afghans, magazines or a knitting project.

The basket comes unlined in Plain, Wine & Blue or Wine & Green trim. Colored trim is woven from dyed reed rather than painted on. A wood lid, cotton liner and engraved brass plate are optional extras sold separately; the lid can turn the basket into a side table.

Can I use the basket for storage other than firewood?

Yes, this woven basket can hold afghans, magazines or a knitting project beside a chair. Its household storage uses let you move it away from the hearth when you do not need it for logs.

Does the basket include a lid or liner?

No, the basket comes unlined, and the wood lid and cotton liner are sold separately. The optional lift-off wood lid allows the basket to serve as a side table.
